Haydrian: Healer Icon Flats

So....I've been seeing all of these Deviants, especially more recently, setting their Sonic series based characters to icons from the Sonic Heroes series.  They always look really awesome, and I've wondered for a while about what it would be like to have my own character as part of a team.  But I have also always ended up with a few problems when I come across that line of thought.  One, Haydrian is a wanderer. He doesn't spend too much time in most places, and it would be difficult for him to stick with any one team for an extended period of time.  At best, he would form temporary team alliences, the length depending on situation, or if he had settled in a place for a while. Temporary team formation isn't that big of a draw back though.  The bigger issue was, I could never really decide what role he would fit best into.  While he is particularly decent at fighting for his young age, compared to most larger, adult opponents, he's not really that much of a power house.  So that one was out.  And while his small size makes him light and quick on his feet, and out of his combat skills, agility is definatly on the top of his list, he's not really a 'speed type' per-se either.  And flying he completely lacks, so that was no question at all.  If he really had to fill a role in a team, besides flying, he probably /could/ have filled speed, but it just never really felt right.

And then it hit me at one point.....if he didn't fit any role that was currently existing in the Heroes line up....why not make my own?
After all, Haydrian's true specialty lies in another set of special skills he has trained, so why not make his role focused on that.

So, here you have it!  I created a Sonic Heroes Icon to represent the role of team Healer.

The funny thing about this project was I had only originally intended to do a good, but fairly quick drawing of Haydrian to be the introduction of my Icon, but as I worked on it, I realized, if I was going to do something more official like this for him, I should also use this as an opportunity to finally decide what exactly his appearance should look like in a finalized sense.  And so, this turned into not only a refined drawing, but one I did a lot of research for, so that I could finish the design of things like his bracers and backpack.
Granted, this is only a WIP at this stage, and I have a few last line art things I need to add, and want to do full shading, but I thought this was a good point to reveal what I have so far. ^.^
